Wood Finishing Specialist

**This job is located in Rapid City, SD**

We’re looking for a skilled finishing specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prep, sand, seal, and apply high-performance coatings (lacquer, enamel, epoxy, urethane, or similar) by hand and using HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray equipment.

  • Achieve flawless finishes on complex and curved surfaces

  • Wet sand, buff, and polish to final mirror gloss and smoothness

  • Maintain consistent color, sheen, and durability across production

  • Maintain and clean spray guns, spray booth, and safety equipment (respirators, filters, PPE)

  • Follow proper safety protocols for handling coatings, solvents, and spray environments

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with performance spray finishing (guitar, surfboard, skateboard, or automotive finishing a strong plus)

  • Strong skills in layering, sanding, and polishing to a high standard.

  • High attention to detail and craftsmanship

  • Comfort troubleshooting spray systems and experimenting with techniques

Bonus Skills:

  • Color mixing/tinting and custom effects

  • Familiarity with epoxy or specialty coatings
